Jefa BG12 and BG15 steering gearbox

The Jefa BG12 steering box is used when a steering position is required without the use of a standard pedestal. The mounting is done from the inside of the pedestal. When mounting from the inside isn't possible, one should use the "quick mount" version described below.
The BG12 steering box has a 1:1 gear ratio, when more turns of the wheels are required, one should use the step ratio gearbox BG15 with a reduction of 1,2:1. The BG12 & BG15 are standard equipped with a high efficiency friction brake.

Jefa BG12QM "quick mount" steering gearbox

The Jefa BG12QM "quick mount" steering box is used when the mounting has to be done from the outside of the pedestal our bulkhead. A good example is the X43 steering as described in the transmission system page. The installation order is as follows: A cut out is made by using the inside profile of the stainless steel bracket as template. The bracket is moved through the hole and glued to the inside of the pedestal. The universal joint is attached to the gearbox with the clamp and torque tube mounted. The complete assembly can be entered through the hole and the bolts that holt the cover plate to the stainless back plate can be mounted.   
The BG12QM steering box has a 1:1 gear ratio, when more turns of the wheels are required, one should use the step ratio gearbox BG15QM with a reduction of 1,2:1. The BG12QM & BG15QM are standard equipped with a high efficiency friction brake.
