The BS25 group bulkhead steerer

The Jefa BS25 type bulkhead steerer incorporates twin high efficiency 25 mm ball bearings, which are double sealed and pre-lubricated for a long and maintenance free life. The lip seal at the front is the especially developed Jefa PUR seal, which contains no metal parts for a life long problem free usage. The stainless steel steering shaft has a diameter of 25 mm to guarantee a stiff and strong steering arrangement for wheels up until 1300 mm diameter. Above 1300 mm wheel size one should add a support bearing at the aft side of the steering shaft (like the BS30 unit). The maximum wheel size accepted is 1500 mm. The large internal brake dish provides an efficient and strong braking arrangement. The number of turns achieved with the various sprockets can be found in our sprocket table.

The BS30 group bulkhead steerer

The Jefa BS30 type bulkhead steerer incorporates twin high efficiency 30 mm ball bearings, which are double sealed and pre-lubricated for a long and maintenance free life.
The lip seal at the front is the specially developed Jefa PUR seal, which contains no metal parts for a life long problem free usage.
The stainless steel steering shaft has a diameter of 30 mm to guarantee a stiff and strong steering arrangement for wheels up until 1900 mm diameter.
The taper is available in 2 versions: 25 mm international taper, suitable for Jefa steering wheels up until 1500 mm and the 30 mm international taper for Jefa steering wheels above 1500 mm diameter.
The large internal brake dish provides an efficient and strong braking arrangement.
The stainless steel backing plate is standard supplied with 6 mounting bolts.
A large range of sprockets is available to achieve the required number of turns of the steering wheel in combination with the chosen quadrant (see the sprocket table).
The steering is available without the ball for the aft bearing for yachts with very rigid bulkhead in combination with a wheel smaller than 1300 mm diameter.
The steering shaft is variable in length to suit the customer requirements.
