The Jefa articulated sheaves contain a housing made of aluminium
extrusion profile. This housing is much stronger and reliable than
casted aluminium housings. The housing can contain a black delrin sheave
with a delrin gliding bearing and an aluminium sheave with a sealed ball
bearing. The friction coefficient of the aluminium ball bearing version
is 1/10th of the gliding bearing version. The mounting of the sheave
assembly is achieved by 4 off widely spread M8 bolts. The sheave can be
tilted and rotated in the mounting bolts to achieve the correct line up
with the steering wire.
The 100 mm diameter sheave sets should be used with 5 mm steering wire.
The 140 mm diameter sheaves should be used with 6 mm steering cable.
It's not advisable to use 6 mm cable on the 100 sheaves as the cable
will fatigue quickly due to the too small bending radius.
All Jefa open wire sheaves are CE approved. This means that the sheave
set will be able to take more loading than the maximum breaking strength
of the appropriate steering wire.
